Ultra Embolic Platform Stacked Blue TM.png

Controllable. Versatile. Simple.

*

The ULTRA Embolic Platform is a portfolio of peripheral products offering moderately distal to highly proximal occlusions, ideal for hemorrhage and other peripheral applications.  It is designed for ease of use, versatility, and improved control during delivery.

  • Simple preparation (ready-to-use syringe)

  • No special delivery catheter or delivery systems required

  • Controllable material delivery

  • Radiopaque material allows for real-time visualization

  • Durable occlusion, independent of patient’s hemostatic condition

  • No toxic and painful DMSO solvents

  • No risk of catheter entrapment

  • Deliverable through standard microcatheters

Limitations of Current Embolics

Embolic products available today can be difficult to use and unpredictable.

Microspheres & Particles
  • Off-Target Embolization

  • Proximal Reflux

  • Poor Visualization

  • Catheter Clogging

Coils
  • Inconsistent Embolization

  • Recanalization

  • Often require multiple coils to achieve desired occlusion (time, cost)

  • Risk of migration

Liquids
  • Special preparation & delivery technique

  • Toxicity of DMSO

  • Customization of NBCA

  • Catheter entrapment

  • Reflux, obstruction of catheter tip

Mechanism of Action

ULTRA is a shear-thinning conformable embolic platform.

The platform offers different levels of proximal occlusion by adjusting the molecules in the gel.

In the Syringe

At rest in the delivery syringe, molecules maintain a solid gel state through electrostatic interactions

When Force is Applied
Screenshot 2023-10-10 at 12.44.09 AM.png

When a force is applied to the gel via the syringe plunger, the molecules align allowing the material to flow through the catheter

In the Vessel

After exiting the catheter, the force is removed and the material returns to a solid gel state, occluding the vessel
